We found out on Christmas Eve that my 3 year old son is allergic
to:
Milk, Eggs, Soybeans, Corn, and Wheat.
He has had respiratory issues since he was born, severe eczema,
asthma, and digestive problems. SO we are hoping that with this
diet change.. we can make these problems go away permanently..
which will give him a better quality of life.
As most of you probably know, most ALL foods contain at least one
of those ingredients.
We are having severe financial difficulties as it is, and our
grocery budget was already stretched to the maximum. These
specialty foods are more pricey than regular groceries and we can
use all the help that we can get.
I am asking for food heroes with:
-Food donations
-COUPONS!!
-Grocery Store gift cards [most of his shopping has to NOW be at
Wegman's..]
He needs:
****Rice Dream brand milk. Original flavor. Preferably the
shelf-boxes (not the ones that come cold..) because they last a
really long time on the shelf. This is the MOST important!!!!
*Snacks!!! Any. He loves snack bars, crackers, etc.. but they must
be gluten free/dairy free.
*Rice pasta/Gluten Free Pasta
*Yogurt made with Coconut milk (I cannot find this anywhere. He
cannot have soymilk and I am having a tough time finding yogurt,
although I have read about this online)
*Fresh fruit (he loves it all) or jarred/canned fruit
*Gluten free frozen waffles
*Gluten free cereal (like Gorilla Munch)
Again, any help with the above groceries as well as COUPONS for any
of the above groceries would be greatly appreciated.
I am just looking for a few food heroes to help us get through the
month.. this fodis JUST for alex. not for my husband and i.
I will pay it forward as soon as I can!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for reading.. here is my info:
Diana Martyn
PO Box 22
Alburtis, PA 18011
Or I am happy to meet someone within a reasonable driving
distance.
Thanks again for your time!!

Thank you so much for the responses.. especially the blessing of a $50 gift cards to Wegmans. Those who have favorited me.. I am still MORE than willing to take products and coupons off your hands from here on out.. but wanted to mark the wish granted because it's been about 3 weeks and I am grateful for the response :)
Thank you!

My son is also allergic to dairy. He drinks goats milk and eats gaots cheese and loves it. Just thought I would give you a couple more options.

Coconut Milk Yogurt! Yay! Sounds tasty!
If I had the money and/or items, I'd definitely help with this wish. My daughter is also allergic to many items your son is (grapes and apples instead of wheat and corn.) so I've been where you are (and still am!)
Good luck and I hope that you will have many heroes!

There are tons of cookbooks out for gluten-free so that you can make your own waffles, cakes, pies etc.
The best deal for you would be to buy a yougurt maker and starter and make your own out of rice or coconut milk.
Some health food stores carry the rice milk and coconut milk yougurt.
Fresh fruit, vegetables and meat are great for him.
Wal-Mart sells a gluten free pasta and some gluten free cereals and they are not much more than regular pasta.
Praying for your little girl.
Definitely vitamin cottage and trader joes are good shopping options.

Do you have a Trader Joes near you? A friend of mine has a 3 year old who is allergic to many items including the ones you have listed. She shops for him there and they have many options including snack foods. Also, if you go to company web sites or call them, alot of them will send you coupons.

thank you so much for the responses, the encouragement alone means a lot. Karen.. I have never heard of that kind. There is no Whole Foods by me now, however there is a Whole Foods by my parent's house in NJ so my mom has been on the look-out as well. Jen, I found the list of vendors, however both places I tried so far on the list said that they used to carry it and don't anymore =( So i keep hitting a brick wall!!!
Thanks for your responses.. it is good to come here and see some feedback :) I really like this website!!

Good luck with his allergies. My cousin was allergic to over 40 different food items and it was really hard to shop. Once you find a routine, it will get easier. She did grow out of it in her teens so there is hope that your son will too.

I have similar allergies and have eaten yogurt made from cow's milk. They sell it in AZ at a store called Sprouts (not sure if they have it there) and they also have Whole Foods here that has a lot. I no longer have to be strict on my diet. I wish you were near me, I have Rice milk that can stay for years on the shelf in my cupboard but have no use for it.

I think there are a few stores around you who sell the yogurt with coconut milk. You can click on this link and at the top where it says "find store", just put in your zip code. http://www.purelydecadent.com/products/Coconut_Milk_Yogurt_Reviews.html
I hope you find many heros as I am not able to help at this time.
