Hi my name is Charlie Washington. I am 32 years old. I am a disabled and bedridden man who was diagnosed with muscular dystorphy and I am also on life support In April 2001, I had a stroke, respiratory failure, and a heart-attack. My mother and brother vowed that I would never have to be placed in a nursing home because I had several family members die because they were not getting the proper care. My mother was a victim of not being properly cared for in a nursing home. My Medicaid which is with the state, paid my brother for 6 hours a day. I am totally disabled. I need 16 hours of care a day. So we are trying to get all the help we can. I was paying a caregiver agency with my trust funds, but I ran out. I have been getting 16 hours of care a day. Because the states pay my brother 6 hours a day and my other caregiver gives work 10 hours a day. She has not been paid for 10 mouths. She makes $9/hour and I owe her 1,750 Hours that is $15,750.
