When a mother of many special needs children made a wish for a laptop, Wish Ambassador Kokothegorilla knew she had to help make this wish come true. Wisher Quiet is the mother to 18 children, through birth and adoption. She and her husband have 9 very special children at home. Their adopted daughter Kim was born with congenital anomalies including missing her lower mandible, tongue and a triple amputee.  Having a laptop would enable Kim to continue school work while away in the hospital for lengthy stays. I WISH for new all-weather wheels for my wheelchair

October 14, 2009

I am a Boston-area student with Mitochondrial Myopathy - a progressive energy metabolism disorder related to muscular dystrophy. My body cannot properly turn food and oxygen into energy for organ function. The disease affects nearly all my organ systems. As a result of muscle breakdown, I've used a wheelchair for 5 years. I do not view myself as "wheelchair-bound" - my wheelchair gives me back the FREEDOM I lost to this disease. HELP GRANT THIS WISH. CLICK HERE.

Stretch finds a Hero!

October 05, 2009

Wish Ambassador nataliesnana has a soft spot for animals. When she saw a wish for a safety helmet for a blind dog named Stretch, she knew she had to help. "Stretch went suddenly blind a while back. The vet said it was acquired Macular Degeneration and is permanent. If I say "Bump" and she stops and finds her way around the obstacle. But when I am not looking or when I'm not fast enough she will bump into something hard enough to make her yip," exclaimed member myguybones55. "I have found a training helmet, that will teach her where things are. The problem is I can't afford to pay the whole price by myself. I am on a fixed income."  Nataliesnana contacted HandicappedPets.com who donated a helmet to help keep Stretch safe! VIEW WISH.
