Help a family adopt an orphan girl.

October 31, 2007

Please help us adopt this wonderful orphan girl from Russia. We had the joy of hosting this girl for a week this summer and our hearts broke for her. She is a lovely girl, kind and caring. Both of her parents have died, she has no family that is willing or able to care for her and if our adoption is not successful, she will "age out" of the Russian orphanage system and be put out on the streets. You can imagine the horror of a 16 year old girl on the streets of Russia. After the week with us she had to go back to Russia as she is considered "property of the state."

Help support a family in need.

My husband and I have 3 little boys. Our 9 year old has a congenital heart defect (Tetrology of Fallot) and our 6 year old has Leukemia. I know, I know what is the chance of that. I also have Epstein Barre Virus, it causes fatigue and many other things. I was working, but when my son was diagnosed with Cancer I had to quit my job to take care of him.

Please help 5 month old baby Justin see again.

October 25, 2007

His name is Justin. He is 5 months old. He was born with Optic Nerve Hypoplasia (ONH) in both eyes. A treatment has been found to give Justin the chance of having some vision! It is the hope of many that he will one day be able to see the faces of his parents and to visually appreciate the world around him.

Justin is part of a medical breakthrough in China for treatment of infant blindness due to Optic Nerve Hypoplasia. Umbilical cord stem cell therapy will help the growth of his underdeveloped optic nerves. By developing these optic nerves, visual activity will transmit into his brain, thus resulting in vision.

Help a 5 year old save the rainforest one penny at a time.

October 23, 2007

Brendan is 5 1/2 years old, but don't let his age fool you, he is going to save the world. Brendan has a condition called Anhidrosis, basically he has no sweat glands. He isn't able to play outside in the sun because he overheats very quickly. When he learned in school that the loss of the rainforest contributes to global warming he decided to save a few acres so he could play outside more. Brendan is off to a great start but he needs more heroes to help him. Read more of this remarkable wish.
