Wish Upon A Hero has more exciting news! Pick up the December 1st issue of Woman's World and flip to the last page. Yep, that's right...we are a featured story. It's a great article featuring a few of the site's biggest heroes and mentions a bunch of the wishes.
If the members seem to be increasing quickly, it's because we are now reaching a circulation of 8 million readers. That means a lot of new wishes and a lot more heroes. So keep an eye out for a wish that you may be able to help grant.
Everyone has a wish. Anyone can be a hero.
Every hero possesses a unique superpower. Some heroes help with clothes for new born babies while other heroes can fix your car in a single day. We like to welcome our most exciting corporate superhero, Fort Rapids Indoor Waterpark and Resort. Located in Columbus Ohio, Fort Rapids came to the rescue of Wish Upon A Hero Member, Megan, when she wished for her nephew to "Feel Like a King". Megan's sister passed away and left behind her 13 year old nephew who also lost his father a few year back. Her nephew now would be living with his grandparents and Megan wanted to do something special that would cheer him up. So, she posted a wish to take her nephew on vacation somewhere fun and within a week an exciting new hero came to their rescue...Fort Rapids!

Fort Rapids is one of the largest indoor waterparks in the United States with over 60,000 square feet of wet, wild, and fun attractions. Fort Rapids provided Megan's family and her nephew a luxury suite at it's luxurious resort, dining at it's Branding Iron Grille and free passes to one of the countries best waterparks. Megan and her nephew has an amazing time and created memories that would last forever.
Wish Upon A Hero would like to thank Fort Rapids for their generosity and recognize their support as a community conscious business.
Marlton, New Jersey, November 5, 2008 - The Wish Upon A Hero Foundation launched it's first individual Hero Program, Emmie's Heroes, at the Hero Awards Gala in September. Emmie's Heroes was created to support Emmie and her family. Emmie has endured much more in her short life than most of us ever will. She was born with several congenital heart and lung defects along with DiGeorge Syndrome, which has 185 anamolies associated with it. At eight years old, Emmie has already had 7 open heart surgeries.
Corporate Superhero, Wal-Mart, came to Emmie's rescue by donating $5,500 to Emmie's Heroes. "It's so tough to find a job when we need to take Emmie to Dupont Hospital 3-4 times a week for treatment. I can barely afford the gas to drive the hour ride," cried Kim, Emmie's mom. "We can't thank Wal-Mart enough, it means so much to the Foundation to be supported by our community businesses," said Dave Girgenti, President of the Wish Upon A Hero Foundation.
