Thank you for reading this. My Dad will be 90 yrs old in October. While out to dinner the other day, I asked him what he wanted to do for his birthday this year; was there any place that he wanted to go. His answer caught me by surprise. He got a kind of glazed look on his face and said that he'd like to go back to Pearl Harbor, in Hawaii. He said that he had the chance to go back there when they had the 50th Reunion. He said that he was sorry that he had not gone.

Great news! We have a new director taking over our Boy's and Girl's Club! They are going to try to keep it running despite the damage that the former Director Caused. Our kids DESPERATELY need this program, they really do. Alot of them have nobody to go home to after school.

A little Colorado Springs boy got to marvel in the spot light for saving his sister's life.

Eight-year-old Nick Witte came to his one-year-old sister's rescue when she almost drowned in their dog's water bowl six months ago.

Nick Witte said he couldn't wait to get his medal of honor on Friday night. He said he's going to pin it on the living room wall at his home.

Witte was proud as ever to get his hero award. He received a metal by the Colorado Springs Fire Department recognizing his bravery. He said he knows exactly what it means to be a hero. "You save people." said Witte.

My wish is for my daughter and I to have help getting to see my husband complete his Army basic training in South Carolina. He made the decision to go into the Army at the age of 33 (since the Army accepts people into their late 30s now) because he has always wanted to serve, and because it might help our financial future. We have always been a struggling family financially.

The core idea of Wish Upon A Hero is people helping people. Clint Coopor of the Chattanooga Times wrote a terrific story about the site and also about the member who directed him to WUAH. I wish every paper in the country would do an article about their local heroes and how they are making a differnce in the world. I know this is a HUGE wish but I thought I would try. I have a sister who is 20 and has severe cerebral palsy. She can not do anything for herself. She is a major Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus fan.

It's a beautiful Monday morning, the start of a new week (okay,not technically) and what better way to start it off than to show appreciation for those that have taken the time to show us they care. This site has done wonderful and exciting things,the people are amazing.
