How does the wish granting process work?

Wishes can be granted by one or more people. Sometimes all it takes is one person, other times many people can help a little bit to grant a wish.

Making Offers:

Once you see a wish you would like to grant click one of the two grant buttons to make your offer. You may offer to grant a wish entirely or offer to partially grant a wish.

The text of the offer you make will be publicly viewable in the Offers section of the wish. That section keeps a track of all offers made to grant a wish.

Be sure to read through the whole wish to see what the person is wishing for. Since many people can make offers don't automatically assume a wish that already has offers doesn't need more offers. Sometimes it takes a group effort to grant a wish and many offers are needed.

Since the text of offers you make are publicly viewable to keep any information that you do not want to share publicly private send the wisher a message directly. To keep everyone honest though, please make official offers through the offer button so that there is a publicly verifiable record of what intends to be done.

Accepting Offers:

When an offer to grant is made you will receive a notfication that someone has offered to grant their wish. The count of how many offers you have will appear in the My Active Wishes page of your My Account section. Click on Accept/Decline Offers link to go to the My Offers page. The My Offers page will list the offers you have received for your wishes.

You can accept as many offers as you want or decline as many as you want. You are allowed to accept multiple offers for a wish. This will allow many people to pitch in a little bit and help get your wish granted through a group effort.

Once an offer has been accepted or declined a message will be sent to the person who offered to grant your wish telling them of your decision.

If you are accepting, a thank you and plans to make next steps would be something to include in the message. If you are declining the offer a gracious declining message would be nice. In the case that you recieve so many offers that you can't possibly go through them all it is not neccessary to accept or decline every offer you receive. Just accept or decline the offers that you can go through and move on to the next step, which is marking your wish as granted.

Marking a Wish as Granted

After you have gone through the offer or offers you have received and whatever was agreed upon to be done to grant your wish has been completed you may mark your wish as granted.

To mark your wish as granted go to the My Active Wishes section in your My Account area and look in the Wish Progress section for the link labeled "Click here to mark wish as granted". Fill out a public message thanking those who helped grant your wish. The message you write will be shown at the top of your comments section on your wish.
