About Me

Hello, my name is Tasha. I have a sibling with autism who is now 18, and he has changed my view and way of living. I have been working with children with autism since the age of 17, and even on the most exhausting days, I can say that I have loved each day! This year I am an Intervention Aide in an autism unit. Because of my passion, I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars on helping the children I have worked with over the years. I am not usually one to ask for help, because I love helping others. I always put the kids needs above my own, and my family can't financially afford to buy anymore for the kids. The classes that I have been in the last two years have had several nonverbal students, and I wish I had the money to buy an iPad, so I could meet more of their needs. My goal is to have 1-2 iPads donated, or to raise enough money to buy one or two iPads. The current students in my classroom would be able to use the iPads to communicate, use as schedules, used as a learning device, and as a reward. With iPads, the students would have access to so many great opportunities!! Any and all help would be greatly appreciated by the staff in our room, our families and our students.
